Louvain-la-Neuve.

Meet in the heart of Belgium

Why Louvain-la-Neuve?

Eat drink & Shop

A little hungry? The cuisine of Louvain-la-Neuve is a reflection of its cosmopolitan population. Local specialities, exotic restaurants, organic canteens, ethnic fast food, lively bars, colourful terraces... An offer for all tastes and budgets.

Have fun, learn, heal & Be Amazed

A renowned university, creative theatres, the inventive and audacious Musée L, a cinema complex, a conference and show centre and the unique (in the world) Musée Hergé, father of the inevitable reporter Tintin and his dog Milou, Louvain-la-Neuve has a demanding culture!

Go Sport

Lovers of effort or play, the Blocry sports complex is one of the most complete sports facilities in Europe. Go and match records on the tracks of its indoor/outdoor athletics hall or let off steam in its two swimming pools. Need a silence? Go to the 18-hole golf course on a course designed in a hilly countryside. For joggers or Nordic walkers, the Bois de Lauzelle and the banks of the lake are ideal greenways.

Activities in the area

There is no shortage of opportunities to have fun or relax, alone, with colleagues or with family. Walibi and its aquatic area are a real sensation. Higher and more natural, the Adventure Park attracts fans of accro-branches courses and bungee jumping. More virtual,

the Infinity Game Park where you fight playful battles in teams.

Activities in the city

Louvain-la-Neuve has undeniable tourist assets. Starting with two extraordinary museums, each housed in buildings designed by great architects: the Hergé Museum, temple of the most famous 20th century cartoonist, and the L Museum, which brings together the artistic and scientific collections of the University of Louvain in a daring dialogue.

Activities in the city: part II

More into music? La Ferme du Biéreau will seduce you with the eclecticism of its programming. Rather emotions? Visit the Jean Vilar and Blocry theatres run by talented troupes. If you're looking for an original tour of the city, opt for the guided segway tour or follow the thematic maps to download on your smartphone. To stroll and meditate, go to the Bois de Lauzelle or go bird watching around the lake. Winter and summer fun guaranteed!

Getting there

Easily accessible thanks to a complete range of public transport and the direct proximity of motorways, Louvain-la-Neuve is particularly close to the cities of Wavre, Waterloo, Leuven, Namur and Brussels.

In Louvain-la-Neuve, everything is nearby. Travel to the shops and services in the urban centre is short and safe because there are no cars. Built near an artificial lake, located on the edge of the forest, in a rural setting, you can breathe clean air and take advantage of greenways for healthy walks. Ideally connected by train (intramural station), Louvain-la-Neuve is the ideal springboard to criss-cross Belgium from North to South via Brussels, capital of Europe, reached in only 20 minutes.
